Mr. Imran Husain: Carrying Forward a Legacy of Service to the German Shepherd Dog
As President of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan, Mr. Husain has given decades of service to the breed as a breeder, handler, judge, mentor, administrator, and international representative. His work has helped guide the development of the German Shepherd Dog in Pakistan with clear respect for correct type, sound structure, strong movement, stable temperament, and the international breed standard.
The history of the GSD breed in Pakistan cannot be written without acknowledging the contribution of Mr. Imran Husain.
As President of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan, Mr. Husain has given decades of service to the breed as a breeder, handler, judge, mentor, administrator, and international representative. His work has helped guide the development of the German Shepherd Dog in Pakistan with clear respect for correct type, sound structure, strong movement, stable temperament, and the international breed standard.
His service has also given Pakistan a respected voice at the highest level of the German Shepherd Dog community. Mr. Husain represented Pakistan and the GSDCP as a Director of the WUSV for three consecutive terms, serving for twelve years on the WUSV Board of Directors. This remains one of the proudest international distinctions for the GSDCP and for Pakistan’s German Shepherd Dog community.
Beyond the German Shepherd Dog, Mr. Husain is also a sought-after all-breed judge, with numerous judging assignments abroad to his credit. His knowledge, experience, and balanced judgment have earned him high respect within FCI and international canine circles, making him a personality of global acclaim in the canine fraternity.
In recognition of his lifelong work and dedication, Mr. Husain was also honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the WUSV. This honour carries special meaning for the GSDCP, as his late father, Mr. Muzaffar Husain, Founder of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan, was also a recipient of the same award.
Together, their names represent a family legacy built on service, knowledge, and commitment to the German Shepherd Dog. From the founding vision of Mr. Muzaffar Husain to the international representation and continued leadership of Mr. Imran Husain, the Husain family has played a central role in giving the breed structure, direction, and credibility in Pakistan.
For generations of breeders, owners, handlers, and exhibitors, Mr. Imran Husain has been a source of guidance and standard. His influence can be seen in the growth of specialist shows, the training of breed-minded fanciers, and the continued effort to keep Pakistan connected with the international German Shepherd Dog community.
The GSDCP is honoured to have a personality of Mr. Imran Husain’s stature leading the Club, and remains grateful for his lifelong contribution to the German Shepherd Dog in Pakistan.
